Tacoma Light Rail System

David Clinkston was the lead architect while with Otak. As lead architect, he managed the design efforts of three other architectural firms, and was lead designer of the Tacoma Dome Station. David developed the "Family of Stations" design philosophy. This approach blended a recognizable Sound Transit LRT system identity, with an individual responsiveness at each station to Tacoma's unique neighborhoods. The unique aspects at each station in large part are due to the integration of thoughtful public art components with station architecture and the surrounding urban design. David successfully led public design presentations with numerous stakeholder groups, and was the lead in the collaboration with Sound Transit artists and incorporation of public art with station architecture.
